AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials Certification Exam (CLF – C01) – Handy passing tips

This credential validates your cloud fluency and foundational AWS knowledge.

You will get 90 minutes and there will be 65 multiple choice type questions. Don’t stuck on a question just mark it for review and do it towards the end.

You may take exam either proctored online or by going to the testing center. It’s up to you. For me, there were technical issues and hence I had to go to the exam center.

How much to prepare?

I would say two months are enough assuming you will study atleast two hours a day.

Key areas to focus on

Cloud basic knowledge, why it’s useful? Key services and scenario based questions. AWS well architected framework. AWS organization. AWS support models. Global infrastructure. IAM, Security and networking questions.

Here, I am providing you with a few links/resources that I referred. Hope, they will be helpful to you as well.

Free 6 hours training provided by Amazon itself –

Stephen Marek training videos on Udemy (very useful)-

Don’t appear in the exam without going through lots of mock tests (I gave approx. 20+), here is Udemy mock tests link-

I found Neal Davis cheat sheet on Kindle very helpful, language is simple and it’s good for the final revision before the exam –

Above all, don’t miss AWS documentation. You can find the details about various AWS services here –

Explore AWS management console by logging in and checking key services.

You may also check 13 hour Youtube video created by Andrew Brown, though it’s bit extensive still I would recommend it –

Finally, I found this Youtube channel named AWS training centre, it is very helpful if you want AWS networking concepts to be clear before going to the exam –

Just to let you know that my passing score was 1000 (100%).

All the best for your exam.
